About this tour
Unseen Cambodia is a 6-day, 5-night tour of Phnom Penh and Siem Reap by The Wild Chronicles, designed for people who have already been to Angkor Wat as well as those who haven't. It uses 4-star hotels and takes only two days of leave when timed around public holidays.
Highlights include riding a motorbike, one person per bike, up Phnom Kulen to the ruins of Mahendraparvata, an ancient capital of the Khmer Empire swallowed by forest, and the stepped Koh Ker temple group known as the 'Khmer pyramid'. The tour also visits Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields, the Apopo centre where rats are trained to find landmines, the floating villages of Tonle Sap, and Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom with the Bayon and Ta Prohm. Tasting fried tarantula is optional.
The tour is led by Pub, owner of The Wild Chronicles page, together with Khun Chuanchai, a Khmer guide with 26 years of experience who speaks Thai and English. Thai nationals do not need a visa for Cambodia. Flights are not included; the recommended low-cost flights cost about 6,000–8,000 baht.
