About this tour
This 10-day, 7-night tour by The Wild Chronicles visits Romania and Bulgaria in June 2025 for the Rose Festival, marking its 122nd anniversary, in Bulgaria's Valley of Roses. The festival celebrates a perfume-making tradition that goes back a thousand years.
The route starts in Bucharest with the People's Palace, then Peles Castle and Bran Castle, the castle linked to Dracula. It continues to Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanasi, Shipka Memorial Church, the Tomb of Seuthes III and the UNESCO-listed Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak, the Rose Festival, then Plovdiv, Sofia and Rila Monastery.
Each trip travels with a history lecturer who explains the background of the sites. The program is relaxed, the weather in June is pleasant, and hotels are 4-5 star with breakfast, lunch and dinner arranged.
