About this tour

Grand Pakistan is a 10-day, 8-night tour by The Wild Chronicles through a land once used by Alexander the Great as a base, part of the Maurya Empire of Ashoka, and home to Taxila, a centre of the spread of Buddhism. The 2023 departure ran from 20 to 29 October to catch the autumn colours.

The route includes the ancient city of Harappa, Lahore Fort, Wazir Khan Mosque and Badshahi Mosque, the Wagah Border ceremony, Khewra Salt Mine, Taxila, the Gandhara Buddhist sites of Takht-i-Bahi and Shingardar Stupa, Swat Museum, Jehanabad Buddha, Rawalpindi's Raja Bazaar and Saidpur Valley, ending with the view from Margalla Hill.

The tour was led by Ajarn Chen Sanamngam, described as a veteran of history tours with more than 30 years of experience. Hotels are 4 to 5 star, with breakfast daily and lunches and dinners provided.

If you cancel less than 30 days before departure, or after flights are bought, the company reserves the right to keep the deposit; cancellation within 7 days of departure is charged in full.
