About this tour
The Wild Chronicles' Pamir Highway tour follows one of the most beautiful roads in the world, nicknamed the 'road in the sky' because it climbs above 4,280 metres. The highway is part of the Silk Road; Marco Polo called the surrounding plateau the 'roof of the world'. The trip covers three countries, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, in 11 days and 9 nights.
Highlights include Solomon's Throne and Osh Bazaar in Osh, the Kyzyl-Art Pass, the Pamir Plateau and a yurt camp, Karakul Lake, Ak-Baital Pass and Murgab Bazaar, followed by the Pamiris House in Khorog, the ruins of Karon, Hulbuk Fortress and Nurek Dam. The trip ends in Dushanbe and Tashkent.
The tour is led by Ajarn Pond Weerapat Kamrat, known as 'Ajarn Thong Lok', a linguist and student of local history. The tour price includes the international flights, a domestic flight from Dushanbe to Tashkent, and the Uzbekistan visa.
